Infrasonica

In the framework of the exhibition Ser Montaña, Travesía Cuatro will broadcast live the conversation between Infrasonica and the Institute for Postnatural Studies, Escuchando con Infrasonica. An exploration through the archive of Infrasonica with the editors, thinking about sound and silence.

Infrasonica is a digital platform for non-western cultures. We register, analyze and debate the disturbing nature of sound and its auras, linked to the world with the audible, the hidden and the sensitive. Infrasonic waves operate at a frequency undetectable to the human ear, although they are often generated by massive ecological phenomena, such as the movement of tectonic plates or deep ocean currents. Infrasonics is intended to be a catalyst for those vibrations. The platform includes archives of experimental visual and sound artists, as well as theoretical reflections on contemporary critical thinking. Relying on a borderless network of collaborators, Infrasonica mixes essays, conversations and speculative works that foster critical curatorial and research projects.
