All Is Permanent Until It Fades

Patricia Conde Galería presents All Is Permanent Until It Fades by Ilán Rabchinskey, curated by Tania Ragasol.

Mexican artist Ilán Rabchinskey's upcoming solo exhibition at Patricia Conde Galería is curated by Tania Ragasol Valenzuela. All Is Permanent Until It Fades offers an interpretation of Ilán Rabchinskey's sculptural exploration through his photographic lens. The series included in this exhibition showcase his experimentation with material arrangements and ephemeral constructions, evoking everything from existential sci-fi movie sets to intimate settings for abstract choral dances. The artist's work encompasses the random and the meticulously planned, including interventions in the landscape and the creation and illumination of quasi-non-representational models in his studio. In both cases, the scenes constructed from a hyper-specific framing culminate in the final work: sculptures for the camera, destined to be printed on paper.

Rabchinskey has exhibited in Mexico, France, England, the United States, Spain, Chile and Brazil, and has been invited to artist residencies in Japan (Casa Nano), Finland (ONOMA AiR) and Mexico (Casa Wabi). He is the author of four books and has received several awards and grants, including the Audience Award at the XIX Bienal de Fotografía del Centro de la Imagen. In parallel to his practice, he is a member of Mexico's National System of Art Creators (SNCA), and his work is represented by Patricia Conde Galería.
