INDEX Art Book Fair

INDEX Art Book Fair will present its 2026 edition further strengthening Mexico City’s position as a leading international hub for the promotion and circulation of art-related publications. This year, the fair will take place at kurimanzutto and will introduce a new venue for ZINDEX at Rebollar, Proyectos Públicos, both located in San Miguel Chapultepec. More than one hundred publishers and editorial projects from Mexico and abroad will participate.

For the first time, INDEX launches ZINDEX, a new section dedicated to zines and fast-circulation publications. This addition will spotlight self-managed initiatives, emerging publishers, and collectives working with risography, manual printing, alternative formats, and periodicals— broadening the fair’s range of editorial practices and experimental publishing languages.

The Public Program will examine the critical potential of shadow and opacity in contemporary cultural production. The keynote lecture will be delivered by Françoise Vergès (France, 1952), a renowned decolonial feminist thinker. The program will also feature Sayak Valencia (Mexico, 1980), scholar and essayist recognized for her analysis of gore capitalism; along with book presentations organized by participating publishers, panel discussions, curatorial activations, and workshops open to all audiences.

The main hall at kurimanzutto will host a spatial intervention by Damián Ortega (Mexico, 1967), produced in collaboration with Alias Editorial. Artist Oscar Murillo (Colombia, 1988) will present a participatory project developed specifically for this edition. The visual identity of INDEX 2026 has been designed by Manuel Raeder.

INDEX acknowledges the support of Casa Bosques, kurimanzutto, Proyectos Públicos, and the Embassy of France in Mexico—key partners in making this edition possible. INDEX continues to serve as an international platform where diverse voices converge, reinforcing a sense of community through books and art publishing.
