To Speak All the Languages presents the works created by Francisco Muñoz, Soe Yu Nwe, and Teruri Yamawaki during their 2025 residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, one of Japan’s most historic and influential centers for ceramic practice. Through hands-on engagement with local clay and the demanding process of the Anagama kiln, the artists discovered a shared material and spiritual ground that transcends their different cultural origins.
The exhibition brings together sculptures shaped by symbols, mythologies, and ritual gestures from Mesoamerican, Japanese, Burmese, and Northern Thai traditions. The works take the form of hybrid beings, protective talismans, and interior architectures, understanding ceramics as a language capable of carrying cultural memory and opening it toward contemporary horizons.
