The Garden Review
Exhibition
-> Aug 19 2023 – Sep 3 2023
Koik Contemporary presents The Garden Review, a solo exhibition by Gabriel Uribe Bravo, guest artist in residence.
The exhibition chronicles a threshold garden that exists at the intersection of the synthetic and organic realms, embodying a harmonious fusion shaped by both us humans and nature. Within this unique space, chaos and order find balance, representing a tacit agreement between different perspectives. Inspired by this concept, Gabriel embarked on the creation of a digital garden, with the aim of replicating the complex dynamics of a physical garden in a digital environment. In order to infuse this digital landscape with an organic essence, Gabriel contacted well-known people, both past and present, asking them for anonymous stories.
Initially, this anonymity was perceived as a limitation, but it turned out to be a powerful catalyst that unearthed narratives that would otherwise have gone untold. Gabriel was intrigued by the various stories that emerged, showing the transformative power of this artistic endeavor.
