Almanaque presents Fernando Bayona’s (Jaén, Spain, 1980) first solo show in Mexico. With a retrospective view, this exhibition shows four bodies of work developed by the artist during the last decade to attest his style, formal and conceptual development emerged from the need to generate a coral portrait of a disenchanted society with their reality.
The composition’s mise-en-scene accomplished by Bayona and his ongoing seek of beauty let the autobiographical and the reflexive weave with the politic, the religious and the documental.
Under an influence from the cinematographic narratives and the advertising techniques, a set of individual stories and intimate scenes are evoked with fond erotism and disillusion digging into the universal’s contemporary psique.
