Diego Zelaya

Sala:GAM opens the exhibition El abismo que devoró el sol by Diego Zelaya.

El abismo que devoró al sol by Diego Zelaya presents a sort of universe that unfolds in a set of 22 paintings that could be seen as cinematographic frames. In these images, spaces, characters and objects are discovered through close-ups and open shots. However, the pieces do not articulate a sequential or defined narrative but operate as suggestive fragments, enriched with a certain strangeness. Zelaya has devoted much of his attention to investigating this quality of unsettling feeling in his work, and in this series he has chosen to do so through ambiguity.
