The profundity of play. Purpose in purposelessness. No conclusion, only coming; no end, only means. All that exists in the in-between, where instinct is master and pleasure is principle.

It looks like this: fragmented parts that intersect, tunnels that lead elsewhere. Lines that twist, forms that coagulate, tones that entertain. Everything obvious, almost painfully so. Sliding, swinging, falling, reaching, twisting, colliding, climbing…

Painted structures decompose into simpler forms— things are painted, then covered, then painted again, colored drawings merge and emerge until a determined set of unruly elements are coexisting and relating within white space, which both activates the pictoric information and gives it room to settle. The paintings are not limited to canvas, but rather extend into space, spilling out onto utilitarian structures, collapsing boundaries between space and work, undoing notions of space as a container and establishing direct dialogues with place and environment.

CABALLO SIN JINETE: the abandoned, the disperse, the playful, the processual, the unsure, the unending, the unlimited, the simple, the fragmented.
