Design Week México 2025

Design Week Mexico 2025 celebrates its 17th edition, consolidating itself as one of the most relevant events on Mexico City's cultural and creative calendar.

Under the slogan "Designed in Mexico," this year's edition is a call to action to empower the creative community and enhance national design as a driving force for economic, social, and cultural transformation.

Organized by México Territorio Creativo, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, the event connects architects, designers, artists, and artisans from Mexico and around the world in a network that transcends borders. As part of its mission, and as a way to enhance the collaboration and events already taking place during this month, they join forces with new organizations and welcome Climate Change Week and another edition of Obra Blanca, thus strengthening the creative and cultural agenda of October.

Argentina will be the guest country in this edition, as part of an institutional collaboration with the Government of the Argentine Republic and its Embassy in Mexico City. This alliance strengthens bilateral ties through design, art, and architecture, promoting a creative exchange that transcends borders. Argentina’s presence is part of a cultural diplomacy effort, understood as a bridge for dialogue, collaboration, and the international projection of the creative communities of both countries. In addition, collaborative ties with France, Colombia, and the United States are maintained and strengthened, continuing the joint work that has enriched previous editions and fostered cultural and professional exchange.

The residency program brings together creatives from different parts of the world and takes place in various states of the Mexican Republic, fostering cultural exchange and the decentralization of creative activity.

The connection with international organizations is strengthened, expanding opportunities for collaboration and global projection for participants; collaboration with universities in Mexico City and around the world is promoted, creating a space for training and experimentation that connects students and academics with the professional design scene.

Design Week México maintains an active relationship with the World Design Weeks Organization, of which it is a founding member, reaffirming its role within the international network of design platforms.

The 2025 program explores the intersection between tradition and innovation through:

• Experimental projects and materials that open new frontiers in sustainable design.
• Intergenerational collaborations that amplify collective creativity.
• Adaptive reuse of architectural heritage as an example of preservation and innovation.

They have positioned October as Mexico’s month of design, thanks to 17 editions that have transformed the city into an open creative laboratory for the community and the world, and that year after year consolidate this recognition both nationally and internationally.

Mexico City stands as a meeting point for artistic, intellectual, and creative vanguards, increasingly integrating Latin America more actively into the global design conversation.
