Daphane Park

In Todo Surge de La Nada, Daphane Park will show several large scale sculptural works, a poem, and a sound installation. The closing ceremony will have live music, performance, and a set of miniature paintings that will act as an oracle or ‘a mirror.' 'Todo Surge de La Nada' represents an abstract diary of the multiverse within one’s own life.  Park says herself: 'Orbiting and accumulating around the studio, the house, the garden - the work is from the detritus of the work (and living). Tearing apart to rebuild, always finding awe in discarded matter. Any object can play or be grand.'  Daphane Park’s work investigates the convergence of energy medicine, science, cognitive anthropology, and the mythical realms of humanity. 

She has received numerous grants and awards, including a Fulbright. Her work has been shown internationally at the Moscow Biennale, MONA Tasmania, New Museum NYC and New Orleans Biennale, among many others.

The gallery is open by appointment from October 9th.

Performance on 16th October will feature movement by Nidia Burgos, sound by EYIBRA, and oracle/divination by Daphane Park, Ema and Eva Blancsubé Zuluaga.
