Driven by the desire to access the divine through the material, this exhibition takes us on an almost laparoscopic journey into what Daniela Terroba conceives as the interior of the Virgin Mary's pregnant body. The starting point is a key moment in the biblical narrative: the Annunciation, where the word and the ear play a leading role. Terroba's works produce the illusion of the organic while reminding us that we are dealing with something more than flesh and bone. Although their forms bluntly evoke anatomical illustrations of the inner ear, fallopian tubes, stomach, or intestines, this vision of the recognizable is only the gateway to the uncertain: a damp and gloomy universe, whose underwater nuances suggest abyssal landscapes or the habitat of monstrous alien fauna.
