Clavo Cinco

Clavo Cinco is a platform with a different model from the rest of the art fairs, since it brings together traditional and emerging galleries, workshops and projects run by artists, and other services related to contemporary art, among several other novelties.

Opportunities for new talents

Most of the emerging galleries cannot access the costs of the classic fairs, for this reason Clavo is especially interested in promoting the development of new projects throughout Mexico, which attract emerging actors from other countries and which are of interest to consolidated projects that are feel the need and energy to connect with new artistic activities, so that it is one of the most beloved events by youth interested in art. In addition, Clavo Cinco will have a new NFT as part of its membership system for these tokens, and attendees who have the NFT from the previous edition will enjoy exclusive benefits.

But that's not all, this edition will be particularly special! For the first time, three activities will be carried out that seek to deepen this search to promote new talents in different ways:

1. Auction Clavo Cinco will hold its first emerging art auction on Saturday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. If you are interested in participating and acquiring a bidding palette, you must register at the fair two hours before the auction begins. In parallel, digital offers can be made!

2.Draft

Does the word draft ring a bell, coming from the world of sports? The draft is a mechanism for professional sports leagues to acquire new players with great potential. Clavo Cinco will present the first draft of artists in Mexico, where the participating galleries, using the draft mechanism, will be able to grant exhibition opportunities to the selected artists. To apply as an artist for this activity that will take place on Friday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m.; You must fill out the form available on the fair website.

3. Blind date (portfolio review)

Portfolio reviews are well known in the art world. They consist of an expert in the subject or an established artist offering his professional opinion on the work presented by emerging artists. In the case of Clavo Cinco, the participating artist will not know to whom he will exhibit her work, which is why it will be a kind of blind date.

In order to participate in this free activity with limited space, the participant must bring their portfolio on a USB memory. Every day different galleries will review the portfolios in the morning.

Projects participating in Clavo Cinco The participating exhibitors are made up of galleries, spaces dedicated to the promotion and distribution of graphic arts that seek dialogue and encounter between artists, their public and their work, as well as multidisciplinary workshops, art residencies, curatorial projects and independent projects.

Dates, times and costs

Clavo Cinco will be open to the public on April 28, 29 and 30 at the following times:

Friday 28: 3:00-10:00 p.m.

Saturday 29: 12:00-22:00.

Sunday 30: 12:00-18:00.

On Saturday 29 Clavo Cinco will have a special party from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The cost of the NFTs is 1.6 solanas (approx. 600 pesos), which includes the Weekend Pass to the fair, courtesy drinks, seats in the front row for the talks that will take place, as well as other discounts and a print memorial.
