Película Perdida is an inverse operation to found footage, since it does not pretend to be a documentary, nor does it emerge from the found, on the contrary, it is an attempt by Carlos Vielma with which, using super 8 film and interviews with his mother, he reimagines a family past that coincides with the last stage of the so-called Mexican golden age of cinema. This chapter, which Carlos narrates with discontinuous scenes in black and white, tells the story of his grandmother Antonia, who, like so many other women in unfavorable conditions due to the public policies of the so-called Mexican miracle, migrated to the United States after becoming a widow.
