Esto estuvo aquí / [This was here] is a testimony of how the MEME connects the past and the present, fusing cultural, historical and personal elements with visual elements that sometimes go beyond the phenomena of the digital age.

The title of the exhibition is a tribute to the famous inscriptions "Kilroy was here" and "Foo was here" which are expressions that have become cultural and social phenomena over time. Both phrases, inscribed in public places during World War II by the North American army, represent human presence in an anonymous and humorous way. Both expressions embody the need to leave a personal mark in historical moments, transcending their military origins to become lasting cultural icons.

This exhibition is a macedonia of elements that belong to MEMES, relating digital culture, art history and pictorial formality, mixing and connecting elements and themes that prefigured the era of MEMES with epic MEMES and some own proposals for MEMES.
