Bread & Roses. 15 years of LABOR

The gallery presents the group show Bread & Roses. 15 years of LABOR.

Since its inception, Labor has exemplified research-based artistic practices that, through processes of creative speculation, challenge normative situations through processes of creative speculation by offering glimpses into the very alternatives which lie beyond them. The gallery provides not only a playground for the contestation of ideas, but a platform to celebrate their construction and debate their individuations.

The present exhibition is titled Bread & Roses, referencing Rose Schneiderman’s 1912 speech during the automotive campaign for women’s suffrage, where she stated her right to go beyond work, but to live, and to enjoy it: the worker must have bread, but she must have roses, too
