The exhibition Behind The Glue presents a series of ongoing work by the five residents of Casa Lü.
Here different sensibilities and mediums have been reunited in the common space of a house where they will coexist from March 26 until March 28. Vanessa Holyoak and Antoine Chesnais have researched the Monarch butterfly, its symbolism and migratory patterns to produce a sculptural reflection that moves away from discursive thought and into a poetic realm where the non-human can speak. David Medina’s work is a constant collaboration with AI and code, through this he creates new relationships with literature, memory and affection. The image of an image projected onto a surface, a shadow or a song are the turning points for explorations into a dilated time. Through her paintings, Georgia Beaumont explores tropes of coming-of-age and the intuitive female spirit. Her botanical forms are a reflection of landscape as a space for transcendence of the senses. Jeanie Riddle’s paintings offer a softness; her markers of time, her care, her labor, her love. Realms of an inner time and personal history, these paintings are not merely visual, but bodies in their own right.
