Aurora Pellizzi

The Italian Cultural Institute presents the exhibition Floating Bodies by Aurora Pellizzi, curated by Martina Sabbadini.

Conceived specifically for the inner garden of the Cultural Institute, this exhibition presents two series of works produced recently in Mexico that invoke and celebrate the expansivity and fluidity of the human body through sculptural and pictoric approaches to weaving.

Collection of plastic bags ☞ The series Plastex was produced by weaving together strips of plastic bags of multiple colours. This series started in response to the 2017 earthquake in Mexico and a portion of the proceeds from sales will be donated to the Topos Rescue Brigade. During the exhibition, visitors are invited to bring plastic bags to the Italian Cultural Institute to be used for the creation of future woven works.
