Exhibition
-> Dec 10 2022 – Jan 29 2023
Galería José María Velasco
Here we are now is a collective exhibition about the present, fed by different identities, that play a key role in the time we live in. There’s a constant movement of who is or is not a part of the art world. With this exhibition our intention is to give those at the edge of the ‘art world’ a voice. Even so the ones who are still knocking at the gates and can’t wait to participate in the world of arts.
At the same time, the exhibition shows different methods on how groups and individuals have claimed their place in both the Netherlands and Mexico. At the same time, it shows you how and when the doors have opened for different groups or have yet to open. The exhibition focuses in particular on the position of queer and neurodiverse artists.
This project considers art as a diverse and inclusive space, where new voices and bodies can adopt and claim their self-representation, an active participation in social and creative life, as well as the imagination of their own future.
