Íñigo Navarro

In collaboration with Galería Nueva, Galeria Contrast presents Las golondrinas pasan el verano en lugares frescos by Íñigo Navarro. Curated by Letma Elvira.

The exhibition brings together a selection of recent works in which domestic scenes and bodies in pause are disrupted by the sudden appearance of birds that transform the ordinary into a moment charged with mystery, lightness, and contemplation.

This is the second time that Galería Contrast is presented at Galería Nueva Ciudad de México, following the excellent reception of its proposal by the Mexican public. This growing interest is further confirmed by its participation in ZⓈONAMACO 2026, where it will present the work of Íñigo Navarro.

Through 6X4 “the art affordable proyect”, the artist’s presence in Mexico has been strengthened in recent years through significant milestones, such as his solo exhibition at the Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro (October 2023) and the acquisition of one of his works during Fundación México Vivo’s event at Museo Tamayo (2023). These recognitions highlight Navarro’s increasingly close ties with the Mexican art scene.

Navarro, heir to a solid pictorial tradition, combines technical precision with a contemporary narrative where symbols, humor, and irony coexist. His works propose a poetic experience in which the human converses with the sacred, the ephemeral with the eternal.
