Ambar Quijano

Ambar Quijano is an art gallery that showcases the practices of both Mexico-based and international artists who are shaping our personal and collective understanding of the world within a historical and contemporary context, and with a vision towards the future.

Comprising both physical and online exhibitions, Ambar Quijano’s programme is dedicated to highlighting artists who stand out for their relevant, thought-provoking and provocative practices; and who challenge societal issues by reflecting upon the present moment through imagination, sensitivity and innovation.

Having found a home within a building in the Escandon neighborhood, the gallery space marries domestic elements specific to its 1960’s construction with traditional contemporary methods of exhibition and by stepping away from the idea of the white cube, creates a dialogue between artistic production and the context that surrounds it.
