Drexel Galería presents Sin título, the upcoming solo exhibition by artist Ghis Thomas.

In the current circumstances, dominated by global crises, I work as if stripped bare, returning to my roots. I have tried to recover the primitive authenticity of my artistic approach, the moment experienced in the act of painting, painting itself as the subject of the picture, displayed without aesthetic artifice, painting in its naked form.

From blacks, ochres, ochres diluted with blacks, the white of the canvas, transparencies and always matt blacks, shiny, sometimes on the surface but often deep, inhabited by the moment, by the gesture that creates movement, light, the radiance of life, the clarity of a world that refuses confinement, segregation.

I have chosen luminous life, openness in the face of the meanderings of fear, evasion in the face of dictatorships, the freedom to hope for the future.
