Calixto Ramírez and Fernanda Patricia Villarreal

Fototeca Nuevo León CONARTE presents the talk between artist Calixto Ramírez and curator Fernanda Villarreal.

The talk takes as its starting point the imaginary generated in Calixto Ramírez's 20-year body of work, triggering a conversation to talk about everything and nothing in specific. Thus providing different channels to enter into his production and ways of understanding and proposing reality.

Actions, forms and ways of producing, simple and endowed with depth, are just some of the constants in his way of approaching the body as a mediator or an instrument of measurement towards the surrounding space. He reflects and puts into practice the possibility of transferring the logic of one medium (painting, sculpture, drawing, action art) to another (photography and video); and he uses the space and materials of the geographical point where he is located. These points will be discussed in depth in this conversation.
