Centro Cultural Plaza Fatima invites you to visit the new cycle of exhibitions: Adherir a la idea, featuring the exhibition Materialidad, by Arthur Mora.

Un-becoming man questions, through a plastic and photographic exercise, the Latin American hegemonic masculinity, which tries to place the man in something like a unique and true way of being a man, and therefore does not display especially feminine, sensitive (fragile) and much less homosexual attitudes.

Through experimentation with materials and objects of different nature, flowers hybridized with barbed wires, necklaces, rocks, piercings, plastics, among others; this to give life to objects between organic and rigid, delicate and aggressive, what could be considered as masculine and feminine. It shows diverse natures united in a single being-object. Starting from an intuitive process on the different cultural signs, social practices and power relations as opposition and diversity. The artist uses photography to document, re-imagine and resignify matter, to non-hegemonic narratives of the masculine.
