Arquigrafía x CEDIM

Centro Cultural Plaza Fatima invites you to the opening of Arquigrafía, a group exhibition in collaboration with CEDIM featuring the work of Ariadne López, Ana Gutiérrez, Mariana Medina and Francia González.

Archigraphy represents the field of visual communication that fuses concepts and graphic elements within the architectural context. In 2023, Facomsa Comercializadora and CEDIM collaborated in a project with 6th semester students of Architecture of Spaces and Interior Experiences. The project focused on the design of pieces with unpublished patterns created by the students and handcrafted by Abraham Gonzalez and artisans under the original technique of mosaic paste that mixes cement, marble dust, fine sand and mineral color pigments. To enrich interdisciplinarity, the workshop was supervised by professor Aldo Arillo of the Graphic Design program, who guided the creative process of the workshop. The final result comprises four unpublished designs, prototyped in an environment that carefully considers the composition in terms of color, size, morphology and rhythm, as well as the technical requirements of production and manufacture.

KILAT | Ariadne López

Phosphenes are a visual phenomenon that occurs when closing the eyes and pressing the eyelids, producing the perception of lights and flashes. This intangible experience has inspired “Kilat”, a work that uses straight lines to create the illusion of curves, evoking the essence of its inspiration.

ESCHER | Ana Gutiérrez

The “Escher” mosaic fuses mathematical thinking and Albert Einstein's theory of relativity. Through lines intertwined at strategic angles juxtaposed with each other, it generates diverse visual effects. The careful selection of colors, their contrasts and the application of geometric principles give life to figures that evoke the very essence of Einsteinian theory. The dynamics of the composition defy absolute reality by eliminating the distinctions of right or left, up or down.

FUSIONE | Mariana Medina

Fusione, through its compassion, symbolizes eternity and fullness represented by the circle, and growth, power and justice by the rhombus. The colors black and white embody the universal balance, being two opposing forces that form an integrated whole.

MODU | Francia González

“Modu” is a pattern inspired by optical illusion and constructivist abstract movement, which uses images to stimulate the imagination and perceive diverse forms. From the center of the piece emerge curves and straight lines, symbolizing the different paths that the human being can travel. Recognizing that everything has an origin and an end, “Modu” takes its name from the word “paths” in Euskera, the language of the Basque Country in Spain.
