Ahinhoa Rementería y Lorena Flores

Yo Studio presents Convergencias, a project based on the work of artists Ahinhoa Rementería and Lorena Flores.

A convergent situation occurs when one or more things come together with the intention of forming or producing something new. In this particular case, we are dealing with the coincidence of two exhibition projects, in both cases using the photographic image as a starting point; and which, beyond having their own aesthetics and particularity, both share elemental similarities, either from a political condition or from a poetic dimension.

Ainhoa Rementería proposes an escape to a distant place that is perceived as something almost ethereal, but that exists on the plane of reality, where it is possible to relax from daily stress and the physiological consequences it causes; meanwhile, Lorena Flores confronts the perceptive processes of the body itself, with the problems, impositions and prejudices that this implies, as well as the vulnerabilities to overcome from the everyday.
