Fictions. Narrativity in contemporary art

The Museo de Arte de Zapopan presents Fictions. Narrativity in Contemporary Art, a collective exhibition by curator Ferran Barenblit, which delves into the reflection on the limits and possibilities of narrative experimentation in visual art, exploring how it can provide emotional dimensions and experiences that differ, complement, and dialogue with literature.

At a time of great technological advances—when much of the information we receive and make up the stories of today's world are intense, fleeting, and of limited credibility—it is important to think about other stories, those that trust in our ability to construct a vision of reality.

The exhibition is part of the program of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) 2024, with Spain as the Guest of Honor country.

Fictions. Narrativity in Contemporary Art is carried out in collaboration with Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico (CCEMx), a venue that will host the exhibition in Mexico City in 2025, at the conclusion of its exhibition at the MAZ.
