Ebriedad Geométrica
Guided tour
-> May 23
As part of the closing of Ebriedad Geométrica curated by Michel Blancsubé, Eduardo Luque and Bernardo Saenger, Casa de Arte Limantour and Saenger Galería invite you to a guided tour.
It is amusing to see in this gathering of about thirty artists an attempt to escape the pictorial hegemony that the art market has been experiencing for several years. The three people responsible for this intoxication (Michel Blancsubé, Eduardo Luque, and Bernardo Saenger), which is essentially theoretical and rhetorical, are not opposed to painting — quite the opposite — but they wanted to try to do without it for one exhibition, somewhat in the style of Georges Perec, who in 1969 published a novel, A Void, without using the letter 'e' even once, one of the most common letters in the French language. To indicate a specific itinerary within the Casa Limantour or to aspire to connect all the proposals through a unifying discourse around a shared theme would, given the very way this selection has been put together, be tantamount to mocking the world. Each of the three curators has made their choices based on their own desires, which the other two have respected. This exhibition reflects, if it were still necessary, the artistic exuberance of a country situated between a north tormented by its demons and a south that oscillates between frustrated emancipation and forced submission.
